From an early age, I always found that some people, no matter the subject, were of interest to me. Conversely, others, no matter my interest, could not hold my attention. Each of us develops a sensitivity to this as a child and habits both good and bad amplify as we mature.
My attentions always leaned to the performing arts. With a family history of artists, I was captivated by the mediums that could connect people viscerally almost without understanding why. There was always a song I needed to sing, a joke I needed to crack, a beat that made me move. As I grew up, I found that these tendencies had a community of communicators in the theatre. I pursued my BA in this discipline and worked in or adjacent to the community my entire professional life.

While pursuing less artistically connected life activities such as sports or business, I found the fundamentals that I learned as a theatre kid served me well no matter the enterprise. In the artistic world I was surrounded with people who understood the value of my skills and often had a deeper or even more effective means to communicate than I did. Outside the arts, my skills were coveted as a value placing me in the forefront and often affording me leadership roles. From captain of a hockey team to CEO of a corporation.
Being a good communicator is a great advantage for me, but that is only part of my story. Great communications requires excellent listening skills, and listening breeds empathy. It is through the empathic path of my life that I sought to help others achieve that which spoke to their most immediate needs. From running an errand, to being a sounding board for a difficult life circumstance, I have always been a willing participant to help others.
With the advent of a relocation to Europe and completion of an MBA, I began to identify other opportunities to use the plethora of my skills and experiences to the benefit of the community around me. Pride and Roar is the most logical iteration of all that I have achieved in my life and career. It is an honor to work with individuals and businesses to find their voices and find the power in telling their stories with confidence.
